Fused Zirconia Mullite

Fused Mullite-Zirconia is produced by fusing high purity alumina and zircon sand together in an electric arc furnace in the proper ratios. The resulting product is characterized by its unique properties. Fused Mullite-Zirconia has a low coefficient of thermal expansion which results in a product with excellent thermal shock resistance and resistance to deformation under load. It also exhibits excellent corrosion resistance to molten glass and metals.

Fused Mullite-Zirconia is used for many applications including glass and steel contact refractories, slide gates, nozzles, and other applications requiring a high purity raw material with excellent thermal shock resistance and hot strength.

MUZR

MUZR is fused Mullite-Zirconia obtained from the fusion of zircon sand and alumina in an electric arc furnace. It presents low thermal expansion and high thermal shock resistance that make MUZR an excellent material for refractory applications such as slide gates, nozzles, and special refractory parts for the glass industry.
